A Time For Everything (Encouragement For Where You Are)
One of the women I have coached shared with me a beautiful offering of her heart to God through poetry inspired by Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8. She wrote this as she reflected on seasons of confusion, pain, renewal, and joy through a tumultuous time in her relationship. She gave me permission to share it with you. I pray that you would be blessed and encouraged by the evidence in this poem of what God can do in those who abide in him.
A Time For Everything
by Kemy
For everything there is a season
A time for every activity under heaven
A time for my marriage to die
A time for the new me to be born
A time to harvest the fruit of my folly
But a time to plant new seeds of love and wisdom
A time to kill all my idols
And a time to heal from their oppression
A time to tear down the house
I built on a foundation of sand
With wood, hay, and straw
And a time to build a new home
With a foundation of stone and precious metals
A time to cry tears of sorrow, of loss, and pain
And a time to laugh without fear of the future (Prov. 31:25 NLT)
A time to grieve the time wasted
And a time to dance with my Father as He welcomes me home (Luke 15:22-24 NIV)
A time to scatter stones of anger and disappointment
And a time to gather stones of remembrance of God’s goodness
A time to turn away from temptation and deception
And a time to embrace the real me,
Who God created me to be
A time to quit searching and hoping for change in others
And a time to search and hope for change within me
A time to throw away every weight that slows me down
Especially the sin that so easily trips me up (Heb. 12:1 NLT)
And a time to keep God’s plans for me close to my heart (Jer. 29:11 NIV)
A time to tear the curtain of shame and embarrassment
And a time to mend my broken heart
A time to be quiet in my soul
And a time to speak of God’s rescue
A time to hate the things that draw me away from Christ
And a time to love – truly love without regret
A time for war – to battle for my soul
And a time for peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil. 4:7 ESV)
These words come from a place of so many deep wounds yet reveal the depth of healing that has taken place for Kemy. I want that for you, too. If you’d like to move to a place of healing in your relationship or healing from your relationship, schedule an appointment with Abigail.
